NYE Style With What You Have At Home

Hello Lovelies!!

I usually do not go all out for holidays like New Year’s Eve, but since this is my first year as a true grown up who is not home for winter break, I am already so excited for all the festive events and even more excited for the creative outfits!!

Sure I am feeling fancy this year with various outfit options, but as I think about what is most useful about outfit styling this holiday, I realize how easy it is to create these outfits without spending for that it-girl dress or whatever!

Here is how you can create unique outfits for New Year’s Eve without going over budget and finding most everything in your closet!

All Black

Ok hear me out you are not going to a funeral. An LBD works but can be a little basic, so try all black but using at least 3 pieces all with different types of fabric! This year I am sporting a black velvet blazer with a black silk top and black faux leather leggings! The variety of fabrics makes the outfit unique while still using easy pieces. Add a pop of color or just something that isn’t black with the shoes (sneakers, white booties, red heels) and you are good to go!

That One Sparkly Thing

Nearly everyone has a sequin or shimmer top, skirt, shoes, dress, hat, whatever. Even if it is from the third grade, make it work! If not, visit a good thrift store!

Neon

This is a trend from fall 2019 thats still kind of around, but the easy thing is you can treat this as that one sparkly item! Say you have a neon green tube top from the 90’s – if it fits – pair it with dark wash jeans, grey snake print shoes (or whatever), a modest jacket, and you are good to go!

Other ways to do neon: shoes an accessories. Again, pick an item that stands out and pair it with some neutral basics!

Your Best Self

If even a little thrifting isn’t in your budget, grab whatever will make you feel most comfortable and confident out of that wardrobe and enjoy the start to your best year yet!

xx,
